Athletes are invited based on nominations or a selection process from coaches, tournament directors and sports professionals, focusing not only on athletic ability but also on character, leadership, and performance. We assess through progressive classification, proprietary algorithm, comprehensive assessment, analytical measurement and derivative discernment.

We begin planning each tour over a year in advance to ensure a well-organized and unforgettable experience. Most itineraries are filled with a balanced mix of basketball, sightseeing, excursions, travel, and even some well-deserved free time. Our goal is to make the most of every moment we have together!
Yes! Each trip has tour leaders. Our partner, PDM tourism with 25 years of experience provides a local chaperone and a USA Gold staff member.
Absolutely! Parents, family members and friends are more than welcome to travel! We average 4-6 parents that go with each team, so I anticipate a handful of parents joining this tour too. The cost for a non-participant is the same as a player. This guarantees you the same flights, hotels, meals, tours, tour bus, tour manager, etc...you get everything the players get excluding uniform and playing time. Please note: Non-participants over the age of 24 will be charged the $100 Adult Surcharge.
Our standard rooming is 2 players sharing a room. For parents/adults, our standard rooming is a double room with 2 adults sharing a room. A player could room with their parent in a double room. You can also pay for an single room upgrade.
We will practice once we arrive in Europe. If we have enough participants from the same local area, we may host a local practice for you.
We are building this team with players all across the USA, which makes it impossible to get all the players together before we leave.
We will also send out videos of plays and email a playbook before the trip!
Yes, absolutely! All athletes are guaranteed a fair amount of playing time over the trip. This is the most important reason we only allow 8-10 roster spots.
Good and competitive! The teams we face overseas are local club teams that play together year after year. Its not like your typical AAU or select team. Most of the club teams have been playing together for years!
During the trip: Tour leaders will assist in getting care, but medical costs abroad are the traveler’s responsibility. Athletes should confirm how their primary health insurance works internationally.
USA Gold Student Athlete does not provide insurance directly but recommends third-party coverage.

Yes! A valid passport book is required for all international travel. While we’ll provide you with the official post office and government link to apply, it is the traveler’s responsibility to obtain and carry a passport book. Please note: without it, you will not be allowed to board any international flight.

A National Tryout Camp will be available, but it is optional. If you are not able to attend the National Tryout Camp there are 2 other ways to “tryout”.

We’ve never had a situation where participation in one of our tours affected a player’s NCAA eligibility. Our staff has worked with athletes from all collegiate levels, and there have been no issues even with the ever-evolving landscape of college athletics. That said, if you're currently on a college roster, we recommend checking in with your athletic department’s compliance officer just to be safe. Ultimately, it’s your responsibility to stay in compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations.

We don't hold traditional tryouts. Instead, we Scout Players across the country by analyzing stats and consulting with coaches to find the most talented athletes. If we believe you're a good fit, we'll send you a personal invitation to join the team.
If you've received an invitation, all you need to do is claim your spot on the roster!

No, you don’t have to participate in all 3 events. You only have to participate in one of the three: National Camp, 3 minute minimum video, or the gold letter invitation. Though if you’d like to upload more than one of the following you are more than welcome to!
You will not be able to upgrade your airline seat if you are booked through our USA Gold Group. You will have to purchase your own international airline ticket if you wish to upgrade your seat.
Yes, it is possible for you to extend your stay. You’ll need to confirm this with USA Gold February 1st. You will be required to purchase your airline ticket separately if you wish to return or depart on separate dates. We will deduct the cost of the group airfare from your tour package and just provide you with the ground package cost.
It’s important that you be paid in full February 15th. Your final itinerary, international airline ticket, and uniform will not be sent to you until you are paid in full.
A payment schedule will be set up for you once you register and deposit. Your initial deposit is non-refundable and goes directly to the cost of your tour. You will have a few payment dates that must be made in order to remain on the tour. Check your invoice for the payment schedule. All payment dates can be adjusted and extended, if needed.
For most international tours, 1 checked bag is included up to 50LBS for the flight
Some airlines charge additional baggage fees that are not controlled by USA Gold.
Airlines are constantly changing their rules and regulations on travel. Please check with your airline for the current restrictions on luggage.
We would like for everyone to wear nice pants or shorts with their USA Gold T-Shirt which will be delivered close to the departure date. We all will be representing the USA so we must look presentable. This will also make it easy for everyone to locate each other in the airport.
In most cases, the destinations that we travel to do not require any kind of vaccination before departure.
However, these circumstances change from time to time and you may want to research your destination to find out the current requirements. It’s always recommend to get shots if you plan to travel internationally.
A connecting ticket is needed if you have to fly in order to reach our “gateway city” for the international flight. For example, if you are joining a group leaving out of JFK airport in New York and you are starting in Orlando, Florida, you will need to make flight arrangements of your own to meet the group at JFK airport. It’s important to make sure your flight times coordinate with the international flight so that you do not miss your connection with the group. You can book your own connecting ticket or contact us and we will provide you with a connecting flight.
Gateway city is just the term we use when we have not identified the U.S. city we will be departing from. We are always negotiating for the best fares with airlines and sometimes one airport will have better fares than another. For this reason we do not establish our departure city until we have secured the airfare that is going to best benefit our clients.
